Answers to FAQs about High School Registration...

  1. Why don't I see the button on my Synergy page to add classes?

    • You must go into Synergy through your student's login in order to add course requests.  This can not be done through a parent's login.

  2. How do I change to a different world language than what I am taking in middle school?

    • If a student wants to take a different language than what was recommended, parents/guardians need to email rachel_schwaab@hcpss.org requesting that she makes the change for you as the current course is locked.  Please indicate if you want the recommended language course to be moved down as an alternate.

  3. How do I change to a different level (regular, honors, GT) than what I was recommended for?

    • You must complete the Course Placement Review form on the back on the registration form and turn it in to Rachel Schwaab in the EMMS Student Services office by January 18th.

UPDATE 1/7/19 - High School Overcrowing

Due to a low number of applicants, HCPSS will not move forward with the following options for students at Centennial and Howard High Schools:

  1. Biomedical Science, Computer Science, and Aerospace Programs at Marriotts Ridge HS open to CHS, HoHS, and MRHS students.
  2. Reassignment to Glenelg or Marriotts Ridge HS with transportation provided by HCPSS.

HCPSS will allow CHS and HoHS students request Reassignment to GHS or MRHS under the existing Policy 9000, “Student Residency, Eligibility, Enrollment and Assignment” procedures. Families will need to provide their own transportation but students would be immediately eligible to participate in interscholastic athletics and other activities as a member of the GHS or MRHS community, as reassignment would fall under a Board of Education approved special exception. Interested students and families should email student_reassignment@hcpss.org with questions.
