EMMS Community,

Week #1: Week one is in the books and it was a good one!  Ms. DW and I were able to visit every classroom during this first week. We witnessed teachers and students building community and creating classroom norms that will allow for robust instruction throughout the first semester. We hope the students enjoyed reconnecting with the staff and classmates.

Remembrance: Today we are reminded that nineteen years ago, on September 11, we witnessed unthinkable acts of terrorism within the boundaries of the United States. Since that day in 2001, September 11 has been designated as Patriot’s Day and serves as a time to remember those who were lost on that day. A moment of silence was observed today to honor those who continue to fight for our freedoms, and as a day of service for our nation.

Free Vaccine Clinics for Students: Immunizations are required by state law to attend school, including virtually, and are vital for children’s overall health and wellness. Update from EMMS Cluster Nurse, Ms. Suzanne Wingard – It is a MD State law that all children entering 7th grade have 2 additional immunizations (Tdap and MCV4). If you have questions or concerns, please email Ms. Wingard @ suzanne_wingard@hcpss.org.

Free Student Meals: The food services program during the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year will consist of free Grab-and-Go meals served Monday through Friday from 8-9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. at all schools except Burleigh Manor Middle School and Hammond High School.
