Attention 8th Grade Parents - A note from Mrs. Schwaab

We are entering an exciting time of the school year when we begin the process of registering for high school courses. For many of you this is a new experience, and for those of you who have done this with older children, some things have changed. Between now and January 19, when your registration forms are due, you will receive a lot of information that will help guide you through the process. Below are some important dates as well as the link to the Catalog of Approved High School Courses for 2018-2019.

High School Registration Lessons (Mrs. Schwaab)

  • December 15:  High School Course Catalog (through high school groups)
  • January 4:  High School Registration & Four Year Plan (through Science classes)
  • January 5: High School Registration & Four Year Plan (through Science classes)

High School Orientation Nights

  • Centennial High School:  January 8 at 7pm
  • Howard High School:  January 9 at 6pm (5:30-GT research information) 
  • Mt Hebron High School:  January 4 at 6:30pm

JROTC interviews (Call the high school to schedule)

  • Howard High School: 410-313-2867 or Atholton High School: 410-313-7065
  • Now through January 19, 2018

Career Academy Information Nights

  • Miller Branch Library:  December 13 from 7-8pm
  • ARL:  January 9 from 7-9pm

Registration Forms

  • January 9:  High School Registration forms sent home with students
  • January 19:  Completed Registration forms due to Mrs. Schwaab
  • January 19:  Course Placement Reviews submitted to the high schools

Other Dates

  • June 6:  High School Visitation Day (students on field trip to their high school)
  • Summer:  8th grade parents can schedule a meeting with high school counselor
