Hello EMMS Parents/Guardians:

In preparation for the 2020-2021 School Year, we want to share information related to the collection of materials still in your possession from last year and the distribution of new materials for use this school year.
Please know that our number one priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of every student, staff and family member during this process. We ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:
  1. Students and parents/guardians should remain in their cars during drop-off and pick-up of materials. Students and parents/guardians who will walk/bike to the school should also adhere to social distancing expectations throughout the process and will be directed by HCPSS staff upon arrival.
  2. Students and parents/guardians must wear masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times.
  3. Items will be collected from the PASSENGER side of any vehicle to ensure everyone’s safety.

Materials to Drop Off @ EMMS

Students will need to bring the following school-owned materials for return:
  • Textbooks
  • Media/library materials
  • Musical instruments (only if the student is not continuing in band or orchestra or your child/student has been instructed to do so by a Performing Arts teacher)
Materials should be returned to the school they were borrowed from (i.e. the student’s 2019-2020 school). EMMS will only accept items that were provided from our building or from HCPSS. If you have items from another school (ES, MS, or HS) please drop them off at that school. NOTE: this is a change from what was shared during and at the end of the 2019/2020 school year.
If your child attended a different school last year, please go to that school’s website to view their collection plan. All materials returned will sit for a four-day period as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention prior to being inventoried. If your child attended EMMS school last year, our collection plan is as follows:
EMMS will hold its materials collection of EMMS/HCPSS items on Tuesday, August 18th 9am to 3pm.
Please call EMMS @ 410-313-2839 ONLY if this date/time frame will not work for your family.
Items to be returned to (school) must be placed in a plastic/shopping/grocery bag or box labeled with the student’s first and last name. (The bag/box will not be returned.) If possible, please include a Textbook Collection Materials Form in the bag. This form can either be printed and filled in, or this information can simply be written on a sheet of paper. If you choose to write the information on a piece of paper (not the form) please include the following:
  • Student First and Last Name
  • Description of Item
  • Item Number (Can be found on inside of the front cover or on the spine)
  • Teacher's Name

Safety Precautions

You are encouraged to wear a face mask at all times while dropping off items. As a reminder, it is critical that families and staff maintain all social distancing practices and families remain in their vehicles. We ask that all families follow the directions of the staff members present during drop off to ensure everyone’s safety as they enter the school bus lot. For planning, please click to download the attached MAP showing the traffic pattern.
