MESSAGE FROM EMMS PRINCIPAL GAYLORD

Happy Friday EMMS community. As we prepare to begin the second semester, I want to take a moment to congratulate our students, staff, and school community for their grit and perseverance. I remember the trepidation and questions all stakeholders had when we began this journey in September. Collectively as a school community, we have overcome technology issues with wi-fi and connectivity, confusion over synchronous versus asynchronous, and so many other firsts in our educational journeys. I couldn’t be prouder of our amazing staff who have learned to pivot when called upon and adjust their instructional practices to meet our students' needs. I am equally proud of our students and their ability to adjust, embrace the unknown, and support their peers through challenging times. We have had many successes to reflect on and I look forward to building on those successes in the coming months.

Regarding the coming months, please ensure you are reading the correspondence from the county and utilize the provided resources. We want you to have the information you need to make the best decision for your student and family.  Previously shared by HCPSS, parents are required to make a decision by FEBRUARY 5 if their student is to remain virtually for the remainder of the school year or to return to hybrid education.  Please click on the attached link for more information on the Decision on Instructional Preference. Parents should log on to HCPSS Connect and complete the form. If you need assistance or have a question after reading the FAQ please reach out to the school or email me directly. We are here to help!

Thank you for all you do to support our students, staff, and school community. Hope to see you at our virtual Back to School Night, February 9th.

Sincerely,

Peter Gaylord
