ELA Parent/Caretaker Support Nigh

The EMMS ELA team is looking to gauge the interest of parents/caretakers in attending an information night consisting of 3 half-hour sessions (Notice and Note; Evidence-Based Literary Responses; ELA Tech Tools - Actively Learn/CommonLit/Canvas), which would provide parents with an understanding of reading and writing strategies covered in ELA classes at EMMS.  These sessions would occur from 7-8:30 @ EMMS and would be focused on helping parents/caretakers be better equipped to support their children in ELA. If we feel like we have enough interest, we will develop the sessions and send out the date. CLICK HERE TO COMPLETE THE RESPONSE FORM.

Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Testing Window

Measures of Academic Progress (MAP), the adaptive assessment in math and reading, will be administered @ EMMS in math and social studies classes during the testing window of October 18th – November 5th.

Updated Volunteer/Observer Vaccine Requirements

Effective Monday, October 25, all volunteers and chaperones who interact with students, and parents/guardians who are conducting classroom observations will be required to use the PinPoint platform to show proof of full vaccination at least five school days in advance. The requirement also applies to students who volunteer or mentor at another HCPSS school during the school day, but not to students who go to the ARL or another school as part of their class schedule. Learn how to access and use the PinPoint VaccineCheck platform.

COVID-19 Self-Screenings

All parents/guardians are to perform a COVID-19 health check every day before your student leaves home. Students are not to come to school if they are experiencing any symptom(s) associated with COVID-19 or other communicable disease.

Evening School Tutoring

The HCPSS Evening School program offers virtual grade-level academic support sessions for eligible elementary and middle school students who must quarantine or who are struggling academically. These sessions are an addition to other supports for students in quarantine.
