Ellicott Mills Middle School
EMMS NEWSWednesday, August 26th #EMMSOneMillOneFamily #EMMS_Pride Good evening EMMS Community! Yesterday The Mill welcomed our amazing staff back to The Mill for the 20-21 school year. EMMS staff spent the day in virtual sessions learning about the framework, changes, and expectations for The Mill's fall virtual setting. We spent time discussing our work around racial equity, digital teaching, and learning that ties directly to the HCPSS Strategic Call To Action. We are excited to spend the next two weeks collaborating and planning to ensure we connect and engage our young people in the EMMS way. Please know that we all miss the students and are counting down till September 8th with extreme enthusiasm when EMMS officially welcomes all our Eagles! As we head into next week, a member of our staff will be reaching out to each individual student to check in and see if there is anything, we can do to support them prior to our first day together. Please complete the following items this week to help your student prepare for virtual learning at The Mill: 1. Update your student's Family File through https://www.hcpss.org/connect/.
2. Does your student need a chromebook? Follow these instructions...
- Parents/guardians should log onto https://www.hcpss.org/connect/.
- From the left menu, last choice, select “More Options” then choose “Student Technology” from the center of the screen.
- On the HCPSS Student Technology screen, use the drop down arrows to indicate the Technology Requested for each student. Changes are saved immediately.
- If a device has already been issued, it will appear in the inventory list. If a student already has a device issued, a new request will not be processed.
- Families will receive a confirmation email with necessary information, including pickup location, date and time.
