Family File & Student Emergency Card Update
It is time to update your student's Family File information in HCPSS Connect! Family File provides emergency contact and other important information for students within the Howard County Public School System. Completing Family File also ensures you are receiving importation information and updates for HCPSS and EMMS. This information must be updated EACH school year for EACH student. - Log in to HCPSS Connect Synergy using parent/guardian credentials
- Select “More Options” from the left navigation
- Select “Family File” at the top of the page
- Complete each page of Family File
- On the last page, select the blue Submit button
- Student information
- Parent/guardian contact
- Emergency contacts
- Medical information
- Arrival/dismissal procedures
- Media release (photo approval)
- Data confidentiality
- PTA/PTSA directory
Step 1: Custodial parent(s)/guardian(s) must complete the HCPSS Change of Address and Phone Number Form (Fillable PDF). If you cannot sign the form electronically, be sure to scan or take a photo of it with custodial parent(s)/guradian(s) signature.
Step 2: Gather electronic copies (pdf, png, jpg formats) of the following:
- A deed or deed of trust that has all required signatures or an original lease with all required signatures.
- A current bill for cable television, non-cellular telephone, or gas and electric.
Step 3: Email the completed form and all available requested documents to Ms. Heather Shafer, EMMS Registrar (heather_shafer@hcpss.org).
