Student Vaccinations
Attention rising 7th and 8th graders for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year, the Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene requires all 7th and 8th graders in the state of Maryland have one Tdap and one Meningitis vaccine BEFORE entering school. Please make sure to have your student's vaccinations up to date before the start of the 2024-2025 school year. Contact your health care provider for an appointment or call Howard County Health Dept at 410-313-6300 to schedule an appointment.
Your child may not be able to attend school until these vaccines are complete and the health room has a copy on file.

Please take a moment to review your family file to ensure accurate and current contact information is provided for the health room to access when they need to contact a parent/guardian. You can review your information via HCPSS Connect and select More Options tab on the left side of the page, then select Family File tab.
Student Illness
All HCPSS students and staff must stay home if they are experiencing symptom(s) associated with any communicable disease. All students, staff and visitors should perform daily health checks and may not enter an HCPSS bus or building with ANY of the following:
fever of 100 degrees or higher
sore throat
cough
difficulty breathing
diarrhea or vomiting
new onset of severe headache (especially with fever), or
new loss of taste or smell
Students with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher will be sent home and should not return to school until their temperature has remained below 100 degrees for at least 24 hours without the aid of fever-reducing medications like acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
Lastly, please make sure you have updated your parent/guardian contact phone numbers and your emergency contacts in Synergy.
